Now a days Linux became a main stream operating system. Many users are now start using it. But as we know it's like a platform build for advance users so we face a little difficulty in using it.

For Beginners
Download
First you need to download Linux mint. Download It Hear
Installing
To install Linux mint you need to make a boot-able DVD or USB(I will discuss it later how to make a boot-able USB).
And then you need to boot your computer with it.
Once it start there is a install mint icon on your system's Desktop.
Now double click on it and a window will open.
Click on the forward button.
Then you have to ask for partitioning If you are using it along side windows or any other operating system then choose partition manually.
Partition
In Linux There are three major partitions
And some optional partitions
Now it request your username and password please supply it and click on install.
Now a pop-up will come and you just need to reboot your system. and it's done.

- Root :- Where all your software get installed. Where Linux keep all files. It's like c:/ drive of your windows. It's size is at-least of 7 GB.
- Swap :- It's a virtual RAM of linux where it put all of the files swap from RAM. It's size is usually double of RAM but it depends on your hard disk size and RAM requirement.
- Home :- It's the user space. Here user puts all of his files. Every user related posses have it's memory here. It's size is your own wish how much data you need to save in Linux put it's size according to that.
And some optional partitions
- Var :- It's the place where all of your FTP and HTTP data stores.
- Usr :- If you are running on a multi-user system them it is the place where your home located
Now it request your username and password please supply it and click on install.
